Permissions overview

There are three tools that are used to apply and control permissions in CMSi and the order that they are applied is very important. They are, in order that they are applied:

  1. User Interest Groups: These control which SITES a user may edit e.g. Sites 1, 2 and 3 but not 4 or 5
  2. Permission Settings: These control which FIELDS a user may see or edit e.g. they may have write permissions to the planning forms but only have read only rights to Cultural Heritage or Property and Agreements form data
  3. State Rules: These control which fields are editable at which STATUS a record is at. For example if an Agreement is being prepared, users with edit rights to the agreement may edit the data but once the agreement is active, only certain fields may be editable and once it is closed, all fields are read-only except for an administrator. Note that State Rules do not work on Planning forms.

You can view more information on each of these on their bespoke pages.
